F7U-3 Cutlass Conversion- Now Delivering!

All of our modelers are aware of an available 1/48 F7U-3 Cutlass kit. Our master maker took a long hard look at this kit and we decided to produce a proper conversion kit which will enable to our customers to produce an accurate and definitive F7U-3 to compliment our Collect-Aire F7U-1 kit. The problem was that no one quite knew what was wrong with the existing kit. After extensive drawings review and matching up with real world photographs and many drafting attempts, it has been determined that the entire plastic kit forward of the wing root needed to be changed. Actually the existing kit from the wing root to the tail was fine! Thus, this is where we made the revisions and produced a properly blended complete new forward fuselage, deep seamless intakes, complete and new cockpit with proper "framework multi-part seat" and of course, the proper canopy shape in clear vacuform, custom resin framing, along with custom metal gear struts. All of which will be expertly blended in to the existing F7U-3 kit rear fuselage. Click below to viiew pictures of the prototype kit parts.

This complete conversion and update set will include:

  1. Complete Accurate Foward Fuselage
  2. Deep Seamless Intakes down to the compressor faces.
  3. Full new cockpit and multipart seat (needed to properly depict the Vought specific "framework" seat of the "50's").
  4. New properly shaped vacuform canopy and resin canopy frame to show open or closed.
  5. Numerous metal parts including new metal landing gear struts.
  6. Our usual high quality custom color boxing and complete instructions.
  7. Multiple custom colorful decal sheets with full stenciling.

Now you will be able properly complete your F7U-3 and get it out of the box and on to a place of honor in your 1950's Naval Aviation Collection!
